Create your own blog

Through the following exercise you will learn more about blogs, how to use them, how to create your own blog and make best use out of it. Before creating your own blog I would like you to post a reply to the post "Your Web 2.0 journey", you may post your ideas, your thoughts but also how you feel about using this technology. You could also mention if there is a particular web 2.0 technology you would like to learn more about.
After you have posted your reply to the "web 2.0 journey" you will then create your own blog and send the link to your blog to silke.mischke@imd.ch.
Please click here to view the instructions on how to create your own blog
Once your blog has been created reflect on the follwing "Imagine you are talking to a friend who would like to know more about the Evonik program you are about to follow and he/she wants to understand how you expect to learn from each other in a virtual environment. " Then write the answer to this question in your personal blog

  4. I heard a lot about Blogs already, but I never did it myself. I am curious to find out if this will be a suitable pathway for us to share different perspectives on the same topic and to communicate with each other in an efficient way.

  7. In the past I have only used e-mail as an internet communication tool. The main reason being that I was not comfortable allowing all users of the internet to view things that are personal to me. Fortunately, there are privacy tools I've found on blogger.com.

    Silke,

Do you expect most items about us and the program will be open or exclusive to the group?

    Cheers,

    Clark

  10. I have read blogs and written some in the past myself. It is a great tool to communicate, share information and organize events with a group of people, especially over various time zones. However, with most of the public blogs sometimes the line of usefullness is a very fine line.
As with social media, I am not very comfortable to share personal information with the world wide web and am very restrictive with public information on those sites. I.e. I usually check the privacy settings in detail.
I look forward to joining you guys on this journey.

    Cheers, Andrea

  11. Hi all,
I am usually a passive user of web 2.0 media such as wikis, blogs, video sharing ect. I beleive that there is a huge potential for improving the internal communications channel, as much of the information we have is actully intented to be used by several people.
I can imagine that via web 2.0 technology internal information can be shared more efficiently than just by email.
It would be great if you share your ideas about this.

  15. Web 2.0 has not only been a revolution for the internet and made many applications interactive, but it has especially changed the world of distance learning and professional education. Despite being located in different parts of the world Web2.0 tools allow a quick interaction and common learning experience.

  16. So far, I heard a lot about the different Web 2.0 tools like Blogs and Podcasts, but never tried them out. Therefore, I am really curious to get into contact with you via this stuff!

  17. Months ago I had a discussion with friend about Web 2.0, especially facebook, and he stated, that this technology will change the world. I'm not sure if this statement is not a little bit too immoderate. But, I'm looking forward to learn more about!

  18. Web 2.0 technology is an anti-aging agent. I realize that the communication tools I have been using fall into the catogory of "old-fashioned". I look forward to learning something new.

  19. So, here is another "greenhorn" in using web 2.0 technologies. What are my expectations to a virtual platform during that program? I hope it is useful in working together on assignments across long distances fast and effficiently, especially with you out there in China and America.
