Evonik Learning Technology Journey

Please click on each image to view the assignment for each technology you will be using

Dear all,

in this blog post you will find a link to your first assignments about the use of technology for Learning. The aim of these first assignments is to become familiar with the technology being used during the program.

Throughout the program you will learn how to use other technologies and reflect on their potential use in different contexts. For each of the assignment you will find a blog entry, where you describe your own experience, ask questions or bring in your ideas and thoughts. So far so good, now you will need to create your own blog and you will find the instructions in the post "My first blog". I recommend to do this assignment first right after the Google account creation because some of the other assignments will need either the blog or you will need a Google account to access some of the other tools. In this post I will update the journey and as often as you feel commenting about your own journey please feel free to reply to this post. Silke

Create a Google Account

Your first web 2.0 assignment is to create a Google account if you don't have any.
Once you have completed the account creation you will be using this account for the further technology assignments.
If you have any question please do not hesitate to contact me through email or on this blog.

Create your own blog

Through the following exercise you will learn more about blogs, how to use them, how to create your own blog and make best use out of it. Before creating your own blog I would like you to post a reply to the post "Your Web 2.0 journey", you may post your ideas, your thoughts but also how you feel about using this technology. You could also mention if there is a particular web 2.0 technology you would like to learn more about.
After you have posted your reply to the "web 2.0 journey" you will then create your own blog and send the link to your blog to silke.mischke@imd.ch.
Please click here to view the instructions on how to create your own blog
Once your blog has been created reflect on the follwing "Imagine you are talking to a friend who would like to know more about the Evonik program you are about to follow and he/she wants to understand how you expect to learn from each other in a virtual environment. " Then write the answer to this question in your personal blog

RSS Feed

Subscribe to a RSS Feed or Discuss what might be the advantage of using RSS Feeds for the program

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works—such as blog entries, news headlines, audio, and video—in a standardized format. You may subscribe to a RSS Feed of a particular content provider so that their updates get pushed to your RSS Reader.

In order to be able to subscribe to a feed, you will need a RSS Reader. Since you have already created a Google account you may use the Google Reader for this assignment.

Once you have signed in to Google Reader check for news feeds that you think might be interesting for the other participants in regards to the program and share them as a blog post on this blog.

In case you are not allowed to sign up for a RSS Reader and receive the feeds then please post a comment in your blog about what you think might be advantages for using RSS feeds during the program.

If you have any question please do no hesitate to send me an email silke.mischke@imd.ch
